Everybody Needs to Blow Off Some Steam

Earlier this year the old steam plant for the campus was demolished.  I was walking past the site the other day and I saw this random thing.  I know it's harder to see, but the steam isn't just coming up out of the manhole.  There is a pipe sticking up about a foot and a half.  I don't get it.  Oh well.
